C’est l’histoire de l’opéra pour enfants Brundibar qui fut clandestinement joué dans le camp de Terezin.
C’est aussi l’histoire de cet orphelin tchèque de 13 ans Hanuš Hachenburg devenu poète malgré la guerre, ou peut-être, à cause de la guerre. 
Hanuš Hachenburg publia d’octobre 1942 à décembre 1943 – date de son départ pour Birkenau où il fut assassiné- 20 poèmes et une pièce de théâtre pour marionnettes.
C’est l’histoire de deux jeunes professeurs de chants d’aujourd’hui qui organisent avec leurs élèves une création de cet opéra et de cette pièce pour commémorer les 80 ans de la libération de Terezin, le 9 mai 1945. 
C’est aussi l’histoire de ces jeunes chanteurs d’aujourd’hui qui cherchent à connaître ceux qui avant eux ont créé les rôles qu’ils chanteront et à leur redonner vie pour qu’ils ne soient pas oubliés. 

Brundibár and other ghosts

This is the story of the children’s opera Brundibar which was clandestinely performed in the Terezin camp.
It is also the story of this 13-year-old Czech orphan Hanuš Hachenburg who became a poet despite the war, or perhaps, because of the war.
Hanuš Hachenburg published from October 1942 to December 1943 – the date of his departure for Birkenau where he was assassinated – 20 poems and a puppet play.
It is the story of two young singing teachers today who organize with their students a creation of this opera and this piece to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Terezin, on May 9, 1945.
It is also the story of these young singers today who seek to know those who before them created the roles they will sing and to bring them back to life so that they are not forgotten.
