Jiri Trnka, l’ami retrouvé

Enfant, Jiří Trnka voulait rester, toute sa vie, dans les jupes de sa mère, jouer avec des marionnettes et dormir dans un magasin de jouets.

Né en 1912 à Pilsen, dans l’Empire Austro-Hongrois, Jiří Trnka donna vie à ses marionnettes en réalisant des films que le monde entier a admiré ; mais il ne put échapper au chaos du monde.

Et c’est à cause de ce chaos qu’il est aujourd’hui oublié et qu’il convient de le réhabiliter.

Jiri Trnka, the Long Lost Friend

All his life, Jiří Trnka would have wanted to stay in his mother’s skirts, to play with puppets and sleep in a toy shop. 

Born in 1912 in Pilsen, in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Jiří Trnka gave life to his puppets by making films that the world admired, but he could not escape the chaos of the world. 

And it is because of this chaos that he has been forgotten and that today he should be rehabilitated.
