Le polo est né en Inde il y a 150 ans. Ce documentaire nous emmène au Rajasthan, terre sacrée du polo, où il est longtemps resté l’apanage des Maharadjas.

Guidé par Lokendra Singh Rathore, champion de polo et époux de la princesse Bhargavi Mewar d’Udaïpur, entrons dans les palais rajputs où se perpétue la tradition du polo et suivons-le sur les gazons de Jaïpur, capitale indienne du polo, à la conquête de la coupe Simur.

Cavaliers, éleveurs, entraineurs, arbitres, spectateurs et amoureux du cheval, nous font découvrir ce sport équestre particulièrement élégant, au rythme effréné des galops.

Polo was born in India 150 years ago. This film takes us to Rajasthan, holy land of polo, where it remained, for a long time, a Maharadja’s privilege. 

Guided by Lokendra Singh Rathore, polo champion and husband of the Princess Bhargavi Mewar of Udaipur, we invite you in the Rajput’s palaces where the tradition of polo is perpetuated, then follow the champion on the Jaïpur polo ground -the indian polo place to be- , where he will set out to conquer the Simur Cup.

Horse riders, breeder, trainers, referees, spectators and horse lovers will make us feel the glamour of polo at the wild gallop tempo.
